Happy 2022, my friends!
I hope you had a fantastic 2021, even if it had some bumps, and you’re looking forward to an even better 2022. I know I am!
And to celebrate, I am sure you’ve already noticed but. . . . I re-decorated my blog! You’re welcome to poke around and see what’s new, I didn’t add much new content, just brightened it up and made the color scheme different, and changed the layout. (Okay, apparently I did a lot. 😅)
What do you think? Let me know at the end of this post.
Now that we have that housekeeping out of the way, let’s get onto the post.
Today, I have a collab that I am so excited about.
Can’t wait to get started and let you guys meet this fantastic girl!
Welcome Anna! In case my readers haven’t met you, would you mind introducing yourself?
Hi! I am a Jesus-loving teenager who enjoys writing, family, and friends. In my free time, you will find me writing, reading, or dreaming up a new idea for a story. I’m so excited for this interview, Pearl!
What is one thing you like to do, besides writing?
I love to do graphic design and play the piano. I enjoy creating cards and book covers, and I am always looking for new classical music to learn.
What is your favorite part about writing?
I love dreaming up new characters. At the moment, I have more characters than I do projects!
What is the first book that made you cry?
Hmm, I think it was the book Adventures by Apple Tree Creek. The main character’s little sister died, and I cried for a long time over that. I still get sad when I think about it.
Where do you get your story ideas?
Everywhere! I’ve gotten quite a few from various movies, and my novelette idea came from the song Gold by Britt Nicole. But my favorite place to get ideas would have to be journaling prompts.
Who is your favorite author?
Brandilyn Collins and Beverly Lewis. I read the Bradleyville series and Holly’s Heart all the time.
When was the first time you knew you wanted to be a writer?
I’ve always loved writing. When I was younger, I had quite a few little stories and books that I was so proud of at the time.
For several years, I didn’t write at all, let alone think about writing as a career. But last May, I joined the Young Writers Workshop and that decision opened up a whole new world. I started a novel and learned so much. As I grew as a writer, I rediscovered my love of writing and how amazing it is to see characters change over the course of their story.
That was when I knew that I wanted to write.
What is your writing mission statement?
This question really ties in with why do you write? My writing mission statement is Writing for the Glory of God. I try to explore important themes and topics in all my writing and to not just write fairy tales.
What is your writing project?
I have several projects, all of which are in different stages. My novel Forgiven is currently being edited/rewritten, both of which I’m enjoying! I am in the middle of brainstorming my novelette Worthy, and the short story Love Times Two I am writing with you is in the drafting stage.
What is your favorite book?
I have so many, but the Bradleyville series and Holly’s Heart take the top spots!
Thank you so much for the interview!!
Thank you SO much for reading, friends!
