You only have so much time. How do you save it?
Timed Tuesday is back again! Last week, I did a post on Why we need to save time.
Today, I am talking about how we actually go through with that and save our time.
I’ve learned that I waste so much time when I don’t have a list or a plan. Often, I will make a list right before I go to bed. When I wake up, I know what needs to worked on first. This way, I always know what I need to do and I am not mindlessly wasting time. Once the first task is done, I move on to the second. And so on.
I’ve tried using a schedule also, but that didn’t work well for me. In my house, every day is different. And to be honest, I would get annoyed when my days were turned upside down with an activity that was not structured into my day.
This is why I use a list instead of a schedule. It still helps me to save time. Just not in a specific, time-framed way.
But it’s different for everyone. Maybe you use a schedule, and that works perfectly for you. I don’t know. But, here are three ideas you can use, no matter what, to save your time.
- Be Organized
Organization. Yes. It will help you save time. Use lists, checklists, that sort of thing.
If you are organized, you won’t have to look for things, you will know where your keys are, your shoes are and you won’t have to spend your time looking for things. If you have a list, you will always know what you need to do next.
Organization also helps you to have what you need. For example, if I throw my soccer jersey on the floor when I am done wearing it, it will be dirty and lost under my bed when it is time for the next game. However, if I am organized, I wash it right away after I wear it and put it away neatly in my dresser.
- Take the time to prioritize what needs to be done.
This is similar to being organized but it is a little different. Knowing what needs to be done and when it needs to be done, doing things in the most logical time-saving order: this will save your time and also save you from any mad scrambles when you’re late for doing something.
Ask God how He wants you to spend your time. Ask Him to bless your time and your day. If God is planning your day then it is bound to be productive.
So, go, stop wasting time and start saving it. Share your time-saving tips in the comments.
Until next time,
