I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.
Today, I am sharing the scripture I will be studying this week.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
Since I am in the younger age bracket, I have a lot of choices ahead of me. This verse really speaks to me when I think about my future. I know that as long as my focus is on Jesus that I will be going the right way because he is the way.
This verse also reminds me to be thankful for my salvation. That is so simple as coming to Jesus. He did all the work for me. There are times that my family and I will discuss what other religions believe. The most striking difference is always that in other religions you have to work for your salvation. It isn’t free, but that wasn’t God’s plan. He wants our salvation to be free and because we are thankful and have so much joy bubbling out of us because of what God has done for us it motivates us to love and serve others in his name.
A simple comparison that I thought of would be this- say you are a huge fan of something- for example the Green Bay Packers. They are a great team and you just love watching them play. And since you get such great joy from the Green Bay Packers, you wear a Packers shirt every day. You have a Packer’s license plate. You flood social media with Packer’s posts. You watch every single game. Everyone you talk to hears about all the great plays the Packers have made and what a great organization they are. If people have extra time, you will tell them the entire history of the team. As a Christian that is how it is for me. I am so thankful for the gift of salvation God has given me that I want to talk about Him, live for Him, love for Him, and serve for Him.
This is going to look different for each of us. For me, I have started writing this blog. I am also hoping to write fiction books that share a gospel message. I serve in my church by helping my mom with the things she does. As I get older, I am sure I will take on my own “jobs” within the church. I am working on learning how to play the piano so I can help with music in the church. I work on memorizing Bible verses so I can easily share God’s word with others when I get an opportunity.
In the comments, I would love to hear you share what it looks like for you.
