Happy Sunday Friends,
Today I am sharing the Bible verse that I will be studying this week. Each week, we study and memorize one verse. This week it is, “But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word by which the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:25.”
We study the verse that we memorize almost every day. We review old verses at the same time as we are learning new verses so that we don’t forget them. My mom makes a Bible Verse Study Guide that we use to help us memorize. Sundays, we study the verse in our Sunday school class at church. We usually will read verses surrounding it and also often study cross-references. On Mondays, we write the verse three times. On Tuesdays, we make a poster and then we put it up somewhere we will see it often so we get to read the verse multiple times per day. Then on Wednesdays, we write the verse again, we draw a picture of the verse, and then we write the verse in our own words. Finally, on Thursday, we test ourselves to see if we know the verse and work on reviewing other verses we know by playing some games with the verses. On Friday, we are doing a fill-in-the-blank worksheet that reviews verses we have learned in the past. Then on Saturday, we do a speed round, singing as many verses as we can to see how fast we can review the verses we know. The last week of every month we don’t learn a new verse. We just spend that week reviewing the scripture we already know.
Back to the scripture this week: “But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word by which the gospel is preached unto you.” 1 Peter 1:25.
This scripture leaves me with a few questions. Why is it important that God’s word endures forever? What does the gospel mean to me? Finally, why is it important that I hear the gospel preached?
If you want to study along with me, I’ve included a link to a poster with the verse on it.
Thanks for reading! I hope you have a lovely Sunday!
